Founded in 1903, the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI) is the oldest organization in the country serving adults and elders who are blind or visually impaired. Helen Keller served on our first advisory board, along with other notable Bostonians who helped create the first opportunities for blind adults to live and work with dignity. Today we are one of the leading providers of vision rehabilitation in the state.

Our services include vision rehabilitation services, where we provide our clients with occupational therapists to help learn adaptive strategies for completing daily tasks and managing their healthcare. We have access technology trainings which can provide the tools to better navigate the world and connect with loved ones. Our Peer Empowerment Program connects people living with vision loss and provides practical and emotional support. And our volunteer program matches one-to-one volunteers with blind individuals to assist with tasks such as grocery shopping, reading mail, clerical work, and transportation.
